I forgot I had a blog...

This happens a lot-I forget I have a blog for awhile and then I remember and have to remember interesting, blog worthy things that have happened.

I'm getting on a plane in a few hours to travel to the OBX for my cousin's wedding. I LOVE flying! Not so much the security and crap, but the actual flying. Until 9/11, I wanted to be a pilot. There was also a time I wanted to be an astronaut. And then I discovered I'm not that great with math. Anyway, I'm having difficulty sleeping because I'm so pumped.

On Monday, I got stuck in a freight elevator at my job for a little over an hour. No one knew I was there for over half that because the speaker for the emergency phone in the elevator was broken and I couldn't hear what the people on the other end were saying. They may not have been able to hear me either. They hung up on me twice and after half an hour of thinking maybe they knew where I was, I started yelling. Someone found me and then one of my coworkers came looking for me shortly after I was discovered. That half hour was scary though. What if there had been a fire, you know? I don't carry my cellphone with me at work, mainly because I rarely have pockets it will fit into, but the funny thing was that I was in the middle of a book and almost took my phone with me to read a few pages on my kindle app but I decided it would be a quick enough trip and I didn't want to risk it falling on the ground (most people use the freight elevator to move trash so it smells and the floor doesn't look like it has been cleaned. Ever.) or breaking. Had I just brought it, I could have called my store and been found immediately. Apparently other procedures weren't followed either. I'm going to harass them to make sure policies are changed and that they get the elevator up to code (which is really scary, right?) so this doesn't happen again. I won't be riding in that elevator for some time, that's for sure.

My classes are really irritating lately-I wish I could just turn everything in and be done with it. I actually, for the most part could manage that. However, attendance is counted in 2 of them so I kind of have to show up. It's pointless though when they lecture off power points from the book. Why bother reading the book!

That's about it. If I remember, I'll post pictures from this weekend's respite.

xoxo,
Rachel

My Immune System Blows

I seem to always be sick. If there is a bug going around, I get it and it always hits me worse.

I can confidently say that I would not have lived to be almost mid 20's had I lived 100 years ago.

Do I eat well? For the most part. I happen to like the occasional chocolate.

Do I exercise? I'm training for a half marathon. What do you think?

Am I getting enough sleep? Yes. I've discovered drug-free ways to make myself fall sleep. What a blessing that's been!

Do I take a supplement? No. Should I? No idea. If you have suggestions on a vitamin supplement I could take to boost my immune system, leave me a comment!

I took a nap earlier so I've been catching up on laundry and some (school) reading while I've got the energy.

Starting a new blog

Hooray for blogging!

My friend Anna has a blog and she has inspired me to start keeping one too. We're running a half marathon together in May 2013, which I have significant doubts about but I am attempting anyway.

So what is this blog about?
  • Running
  • Food
  • Exercise
  • Reviews on products, books, food, etc.
  • "Top" lists
  • The struggles of juggling school, work, and the rest of life
And whatever else I decide is relevant.

Who's excited?
